apache - host solr after creating a new collection -


i tried example provided apache solr package. trying create new data collection own schema , configurations. there how should start running solr? when running example, there start.jar in example directory start it. same jar work case? if not, how create executable it?

the first line on solr install page says : "solr includes working demo server in example directory may use template" . http://wiki.apache.org/solr/solrinstall#setup .

even if recomended server tomcat have feeling jetty work you. having index production ready more knowing fields , query patterns well, optimising index through schema , config speed according patterns
