recovery - using ddrescue - what filesystem for destination drive -


i using ddrescue image problematic hard drive ntfs formatted external drive formatted ext3. ok do, i.e. create image file ntfs drive else, i.e. in case ext3 or should destination drive formatted same source?

no don't need format destination drive source drive file system. can image ntfs file system using ext3 file system. not related file system because dd save data raw image. when want open (or mount) dd image file system should consider file system again. b.
