SQL server 2008 replication without reinitialize -

i have 2 databases in different servers - center_db on siglv01\sql2008 , center_db on sig\sql2008.

can restart replication without needing reinitialize it? connection dropped more 3 days ago , slow: want start replication without reinitialize.

based on brief conversation above, don't think can without re-init. specifically, distribution database keeps many commands before starts trimming. default 72 hours. if last command delivered of subscribers older that, distribution database doesn't have needs play forward of activity has happened since then.

your hope if distribution agent still running (it knows when above situation happens , give error saying much). if so, try figure out why delivery slow (troubleshoot other "slow application"; replication isn't magic) , see if can caught way. depending on how many commands remain undelivered, may faster re-init.
