orchardcms - Are Containable Parts and Widgets exclusive of each other? -


i'm struggling decision choose between creating custom type content type containable part, or create them widget. know existing content part can used create new widget, leaves me having create each instance within widget management section of dashboard (i think). i'm not able select content item exists , have act widget.

what have ability select single, existing, content item , display widget. widget expose link take user page-level display of item. allow me have list of these content types on page had html elements (html widgets) sprinkled in , amoungst them.

alternatively, create content type , attach containable part. allow me create ad-hoc list (not projection) of content items want. would, however, have create content type hold html want have appearing between primary types.

are assumptions correct?: must 1 create new instance of widget when add zone? or can select 1 list of existing content types? containable parts , widgets exclusive of each other?
